The WELL is The Whole Earth 'Lectronic Link, a wonderful online conferencing system based in Sausalito California. ILC founder Matisse Enzer was the Customer Support Manager at The WELL for 3 years until starting ILC in Feb. 1994.
The WELL offers regularly scheduled classes introducing people to both The WELL and to the Internet. ILC teaches most of these classes on
behalf of The WELL.
Classes taught by ILC for The WELL include:
- Introduction to The WELL - lecture/demonstration format.
- Introduction to using The Internet on The WELL - lecture/demo format.
- Exploring the Internet with a graphical Interface - Hands-on class.

Whole Earth Networks
ILC has also been working with The WELL on their new venture, "Whole Earth Networks", at WELL.NET. Whole Earth Networks is a division of The WELL that is concerned with building the WELL's nationwide network and facilitating dynamic entrepreneurial projects that use network technology. Specifically, WELL.NET has a Netsite Commerce Server
that handles secure (encrypted) transactions. ILC designed and built the first server on WELL.NET, the
Millennium Whole Earth Catalog showcase server.
